NOTE!

A Control Transformer (CT) is necessary to monitor the Leg Motor Amperage for Display. You will Need 1 per Leg/conveyor. Select the correct Amperage for your application based on Input Current Range (Amperage) at the bottom of this page and add it to the System Price. These vary in cost and are not included in the Price. Talk to your installer about correctly sizing the CT or call Hope Electric and we will assist you in determining the proper CT.

Installation Diagram

Installation Is very straight forward.The diagram is built right into the screen selections so you have a quick reference when doing the installation. The Thermocouple wiring is usually the problem due to the small wire size. Hope Electric will add a thermocouple cable connected to the inputs on the Processor so all you have to do is crimp connect color to color. We have found that the Dolphin crimps with sealant and the Dolphin crimp tool make quick connections that will stand up to the temperature extremes and time. Both are for sale on the website.

Here on the Editing Screen page the authorized operator can:

  • Log in and edit the alarm setpoints.

 

  • Change the names of the equipment like LEG # 7 or South Head Bearing.

 

  • Use Familiar names for the operator to make the system easier to use and quicker in responding to problems.

Hazard Monitoring Sensor Monitor

The Sensor View Screen allows you to view the information from the connected sensors:

 

% Run Amps: CT's allow current readings from the motor you want to monitor. See an overload condition before it's a problem.

 

% Run Speed: Proximity sensor and magnetic disk input to a proven technology that can display accurate speeds.

Temperature: Thermocouples in the Boot and Head bearing housing will alarm when they reach a user defined hot bearing setpoint.

The main screen to watch is the Sensor Screen. It will flash and notify the operator when an alarm condition is occurring. Alarm horns/lights are easy to connect.

Belt Speed

The speed sensor is mounted on the boot shaft of the leg or tail shaft of a belt conveyor. 

If the belt slows down to 90% because of a loose belt or plug overload and the alarm horn goes off, the feed equipment can be interlocked to shut down.  If the belt slows down by 20% of normal operating speed it will shut down to prevent the belt from burning off. 

 

Belt Alignment for Legs

(4) Rub blocks are installed.  (2) at the head section and (2) at the boot section.  If belt gets out of line and rubs on side the alarm horn goes off to notify the operator. 

 

Belt Alignment for Belt Conveyors

(4) Rub blocks are installed.  (2) at the head section and (2) at the tail section.  If belt gets out of line and rubs on side the alarm horn goes off to notify the operator.  You may need to contact your millwright contractor to install rub blocks as each are built different.

 

Bearing Temps

(4) Bearing Temp sensors are installed.  (2) on head bearings and (2) on boot bearings.  If bearing becomes overheated the alarm horn goes off to notify the operator.  If leg has idler bearings you have the option of installing sensors on those also. 

 

Motor Amps

A CT (Current Transformer) is installed at motor starter on one of the 3phase lines feeding the motor.  This then sends a signal to the meter on the panel to show motor amperage.  Option is available to have an alarm if motor is over amps.

Typical Application:

 

The CM3000 Signal Transmitter converts process speed into a 0 to 10 VDC signal for use with a PLC.

Function:

  • Converts rotational speed into an analog 0 - 10 vdc output.
